This was a very fast-paced novel. It was sad and awful to think that this really happened to real people.I didn't even know that the Baltic states were in a similar situation as the people in the Holocaust. And I think that it is important that people learn about it. I think it deserves the same attention as the Holocaust does.I don't know how to describe the characters or the plot. It did really happen that way or similar to it and there is no way to review a story that did happen. There is no good or bad about the characters. They just tried to survive. The writing was great. I really liked the flashbacks at the end of most chapters. The chapters were short and made me want to read more and more of the story. The ending was not really an ending. Or maybe I just wanted the story to go on and get to know more about Lina and Jonas and the other Lithuanians.
